A few weeks back, Jared “Muffdawg” Wesley from ShedRat Industries interviewed me for his Facebook talk-show The Hole Conversation. We spoke about some upcoming releases for Sumptus Ignis, the creative process behind Caustic Reverie, my approach to game soundtracks, and my upcoming novel. Check it out!

Steven Wilson and The Incident
I got to do a phone interview with one of my favorite musicians: Steven Wilson of Porucpine Tree, Bass Communion, Continuum, Blackfield, IEM, and a solo artist. We talked about his new album, remastering King Crimson’s classics for surround sound, and what to expect from the upcoming Orphaned Land album ORwarrior. If all goes well, the tour should take him back in this neck of the woods around the spring of 2010.
I’ve been enjoying the surround mix on the latest Porcupine Tree album The Incident, not to mention the hardcover book of photography that is a part of the deluxe edition. Very cool stuff.
Giant Squid II: Electric Shamu
Jackie Perez Gratz and Aaron Gregory of the popular whalecore ensemble Giant Squid were kind enough to drop by the station this afternoon to do some press while they were in the Keys on vacation.
I got to do phone interviews with them both back in March, so it was a treat to have them at the station in person.
Giant Squid interview
I had a nice chat today with Aaron Gregory from the San Francisco group Giant Squid. The audio from the interview is available here and I’m currently in the process of transcribing it for the radio site. I’ll be interviewing his bandmate Jackie Perez Gratz (also in Grayceon and about five other bands) tomorrow .
Spock’s Beard Interview
Yesterday, I got to speak with Nick D’Virgilio from the prog rock group Spock’s Beard. The band has a new live DVD coming out on the 24th and some upcoming gigs, though most of them are overseas. You can check out a trailer for Spock’s Beard – Live here:
Interview archives added
You may notice a couple of new links on the sidebar. I’ve added a page for the Eleventh Hour as well as an archive of some of the interviews that I’ve done for the show in the last year. I’ve just finished transcribing a chat I had with drummer Pieter van Hoorn of a very cool symphonic prog band from the Netherlands called Knight Area.
