I’ve opened up a shop on Spreadshirt for those that are interested in wearing clothes. The first design came out a little pricier than I was ancipating, but it gives you +1 to LCK and CHR.
I was sick for a few days and got out of the habit of updating this. I’ve gotten Stochastic Resonance pressed through Kunaki and sent copies of the first three albums to CD Baby. If the response is good, I’ll look into getting the whole Caustic Reverie and TheForgotton catalog on there.
I’ve completed an entry in the Steven Wilson contest for his track Abandoner. My remix is entitled Abandoner-Hypothermia.
Work on Helix continues, though I’m finding myself playing Left 4 Dead a little more than I should if I want to get it out before March. The call of the Purp compels me.
I’ve gotten the XLR-1/4″ adapter and have recorded a few minutes of myself messing around. There are a couple of song riffs that I’ve been learning here and there but mostly me just trying out some chords and things. 01-22-09-megatarjam
I’ve finally gotten my secret weapon in the mail: a custom Megatar Dragon.
They don’t call it a Megatar for nothing! Just for comparison’s sake, here’s it next to my old bass axe.

I’ve messed around with it a little bit last night and I think I’ve figured out how to play most of Elephant Talk. I was going from a tab arranged for 4-string bass and had to try and reverse engineer how it would work on a 12-string tapper.
My masterplan for getting the X3 pod met a snag when I noticed that input 2 was an XLR jack instead of the 1/4″ that I was expecting. I’ve ordered an adapter and when it gets here, I’ll record some things to show it off.
I’ve just gotten word that my newest music making device has shipped. Hopefully I should have it a few days from now.
I’ve finished a new longform called Bower and I’m putting the finishing touches on another with a working title of Fissure.

I had actually finished this before the end of the year but I’ve been waiting on Jamendo to finish getting it uploaded. It’s been over a week and still no album so I’ll just post this with the last.fm links for now.
I’m just putting the finishing touches on the last couple of tracks from Themes for Guitar and Voice – Volume 2. I should have the tracks finalized and uploaded sometime tomorrow or Wednesday.
In other news, I’ve just acquired a Line 6 X3 Pod the other night. It’s quite a change playing through either a Peavy practice amp or recording direct from the guitar, as I’ve never really been in a place where I could crank the volume high enough to get some of the extreme distortion and saturation from some of these models. It can record 24 bit/96k digital right to my soundcard, which is infinitely more high-tech than some of the methods I’ve been using to record for Guitar Themes. Speaking of which, I need to stop playing with the new toy and get this album finished.
I’m not sure if I’ll have it before the end of the year, but I do have a new instrument coming. It has twelve strings and will probably turn out to be bigger than my car.
