I consider it a taste of things to come, a mini-album to bridge the band&#8217;s evolution from trio to five-piece. New member John Scott (<a href=\"https:\/\/cameltofuband.wixsite.com\/cameltofu\">Camel Tofu<\/a>) had some cool approaches to clean vocals and graced us with a touch or two of slide guitar. Former Identity Collapse and current <a href=\"https:\/\/silura.bandcamp.com\/\">Silura <\/a>member Richard Perdomo made the jump from production to bass guitar, giving us a low-end overhaul. Fellow Silurian Joshua Thomas Williams joined the band as well, after a few nameless rituals were performed to appease a certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/thegoblinkingjewelry\">Goblin King<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by the crime fiction and cosmic horror of author <a href=\"https:\/\/lairdbarron.wordpress.com\/\">Laird Barron<\/a>, \u201cMacrocosmic View\u201d takes the listener on a journey through the black kaleidoscope to parts unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMRK\u201d is a cautionary tale of artificial intelligence and pessimistic philosophy. I wanted it to be Bowie\u2019s&nbsp;Saviour Machine&nbsp;meets Zapfe\u2019s&nbsp;The Last Messiah&nbsp;with a touch of inspiration from Charle Soule and Greg Scott\u2019s&nbsp;Strange Attractors&nbsp;as to how a pessimistic monster with enough patience could set up some life-ending dominos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three-part epic \u201cUnliving\u201d was nearly an EP on its own, with the eerie intro \u201cThe Void Within\u201d, atmospheric instrumental \u201cThe Feast of Rejoining\u201d, and death-metal infused closer \u201cThe Unliving\u201d documenting the transformative nature of the crypt-to-table dining experience.
